CHILDREN'S VISION

Amblyopia, often referred to as "lazy eye," is a condition characterized by poor vision in one eye due to insufficient visual development during childhood. It arises from various factors such as strabismus (a turned eye), cataracts, or drooping eyelids in infancy, as well as uncorrected significant differences in prescription strength between the two eyes. This condition can significantly impair a child's abilities, affecting reading proficiency, 3D vision, depth perception necessary for sports, and can even limit career options like becoming a pilot or police officer. However, if detected early, amblyopia can be effectively treated through appropriate optical correction and vision training exercises, helping children to develop their visual skills and enhance their overall quality of life.
